The Company

It is an office functioning under the international banking group of the largest nationalized bank in India. Located at Mumbai, GLS handles the online remittance product of the bank for individual remittances from the Middle East to India.

The Product

It is a rapid and cost-effective solution that facilitates remittances from Middle Eastern countries to India, through exchange houses in the Middle East. It handles individual Indian rupee (INR) transactions covering a vast network of 12,300 owned branches and 40000+ branches of other banks in India. Money is easily sent to any bank beneficiary in India through direct credit, State Bank Group Transfer, National Electronic Funds Transfer or demand draft modes. Nominal remittance rates are offered and reliable service and remittance instructions can be posted 24x7.

The Challenge

Due to the nature of their business, GLS had to constantly coordinate with their customers, mostly in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. GLS was using the traditional Primary Rate Interface lines for outbound calls, which were very expensive. They wanted to have a cost-effective alternative for outbound and inbound calling for their multinational locations across the globe. GLS also had a special requirement ― an international toll-free number for their customers to call the State Bank of India with any inquiries.
